I Stopped Making Important Decisions After 4 PM
🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
Dear Readers,
I noticed an annoying pattern in myself recently. Give me a decision at ten in the morning and I’d deal with it quickly. Give me essentially the same decision late in the afternoon and suddenly I’d need another coffee, three more tabs, and possibly until tomorrow.
Nothing about the decision had changed. I had. By late afternoon, dozens of tiny choices had already taken their share of attention—what to answer, what to postpone, what mattered, what didn’t. I was expecting the same brain to perform the same way after hours of use.
That made me reconsider how much we focus on what we’re thinking while ignoring the state we’re thinking from. Two people can look at the same opportunity and process it very differently—not necessarily because one is smarter, but because attention, timing and mental state aren’t fixed.
That’s also why I prefer testing simple things over building theories around them. You don’t need to convince yourself beforehand. If something takes seven minutes, you can experience it once and form your opinion afterward.
A 7-Minute Audio Inspired By Brainwave Research [Ad]
Billionaire Brain Wave is a simple morning audio designed around brainwave research and the way we think about opportunity and financial success. There’s nothing complicated to learn—simply press play and make it part of your daily routine.
Sometimes the smallest habits are the ones that stay with us the longest.
If the first listen interests you, don’t treat the introduction as the entire idea. See what the complete approach involves before deciding whether it deserves a place in your mornings.
I still make decisions after four o’clock, obviously. I just don’t automatically assume every difficult decision is a difficult decision anymore.
Occasionally, I’m simply asking the right question from the wrong state of mind.
Until next time,
Alex R
